TYCHO

Tycho is the music project of San Francisco artist and producer Scott Hansen. As Tycho, Hansen blends swirling melodies into vaguely triumphant arcs that crisscross between stuttering beats and vocal samples, creating rolling sonic landscapes that extend into the horizon. Known in the design world as ISO50, Hansen is famed for his bucolic, sun-drenched design style, which serves as a backdrop and mirror for his musical output. .

Many of Tycho’s productions play out like complete electronic dream pop songs in isolation rather than vignettes or extended mood pieces. Tycho debuted in 2002 with The Science of Patterns, a self-released four-track EP. Sunrise Projector, his first album, was released in 2004 on the Gammaphone label. After the 2006 album Past Is Prologue, recorded for Merck, he settled in with Ghostly International, where he released a trio of singles and EPs (“The Daydream,” “Adrift,” “Coastal Brake”) prior to the 2011 album Dive. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi

.

In 2008, Tycho received a nod as one of URBmagazine’s “Next 100” artists to watch. Since 2007, Tycho, with great care, released sun-drenched, melodic singles for the 3 years, honing his sound and collaborating with even more live instrumentation. In 2011, his meticulous process sees the release of DIVE. The wait has been well worth it.

STARKEY

Starkey is blessed with musical arrangement skill’s that would leave most composers green faced with envy. This combined with his high production ethic makes him a formidable force not only in the underground but also as a super producer of the future. Starkey is yet another example of what the streets of Philadelphia can create, his sound hits hard and is littered with bass and colourful audio frequencies. If you like grime, dubstep, hip hop and all things “street bass” then Starkey’s hard edged spaced-out crunk is the sound for you. Starkey has been on fire in 2010 with his recent 2nd full length on Planet Mu and worldwide touring schedule, not to mention remixes for Kano, The Orient, Uffie and more.

His original grime and bass leaning productions can be heard throughout (his own Seclusiasis label is at forefront of Street Bass in the USA), especially on "'Rayguns" and "Blood Roses", but it's his compositional talents and more delicate blemishes seeping into his beats which are really starting to make Starkey stand out. Lead track "Open The Pod Bay Doors" is an epic statement of intent that builds in the most beguiling of ways, at once melodic, futuristic and tough

Starkey comes with much support. He has been heralded in Pitchfork, FACT, The Wire, DJ Mag, Radio 1 and chosen by Mistajam on 1Xtra as one of the first DJ's for his new Daily Dose of Dubstep residency. He has worked with Tinie Tempah, Trim, Virus Syndicate, Kozzie whilst co-writing/producing with the likes of Guy Sigsworth and Aaron Levinson. This EP will see Starkey build on the huge success of his Space Traitor EPs by pushing experimentalism in bass culture while maintaining a rich melodic and harmonic language. Don't be surprised to see Starkey producing for some of music's biggest names in the not too distant future.

ANDREILIEN

Andrei Olenev first emerged as HEYOKA on the San Francisco underground glitch/bass scene in 2006. By 2009 he was touring extensively and quickly became a staple sound in the rapidly growing bass music scene of North America. With a constantly evolving, original style, he stood out amongst bass music producers as one who keeps the vibe going strong while venturing to explore new realms of sonic experience. Playing always live sets of his own original tracks, his music has been described as a journey through fractal soundscapes and alternate realms while riding the waves of fat glitch beats and earth rumbling sub bass.

Andrei has brought his signature sound to North American festivals including: Symbiosis, Sonic Bloom, Raindance, Lightning in a bottle, Big Bounce, Alchemeyez, and large Burning Man sound camps such as Nexus, El circo, Temple of Boom, Entheon Village, Roots Society and Fractal Nation. He has also played several international electronic music festivals such as Shambhala (Canada), Boom (Portugal), Earthfreq and Winter solstice (Australia), and Luminate (New Zealand). He frequently tours nightclubs and concert venues through the States and Canada, as well as internationally in Australia, New Zealand and Russia.

As Heyoka, Andrei released his first ep in 2008, and by 2011 had produced over six albums through San Francisco’s Muti Music, a leader in the glitch hop and bass music scene. In “Dub Iteration,” Andrei’s newest album and first official release as Andreilien, he revisits the dubby vibe of some of the earlier Heyoka releases with a newer fatter twist.

Further expanding artistic horizons, Andrei has been continually working to develop a multimedia project with original Visionary and 3D art to create full sensory fractal journey in a dimension of its own.
